Fertility & Pre/Postnatal Yoga

How Can Yoga aid conception

Fertility yoga, or as it would perhaps be more accurately called, pre conception yoga, is a holistic and nurturing yoga practice which endeavours to connect you to your body on a deep level. Often explored in a one to one or with couples, it can be tailored into a personalised, prescriptive practice which addresses your needs and preferences. Some examples of specific things we work on are; managing stress, anxiety and grief, chakra balancing, moon charting, emotional self care, female pelvic anatomy, healthy pelvic muscles and learning how to use visualisation to send energy to the uterus. Know that your grief and frustrations are welcome. Often women/couples are undergoing other fertility treatments and that is absolutely fine.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga is suitable from after you have had your 12 week scan. This is a beautiful way to take care of your mental wellbeing, connect to your baby and explore visualisations and postures helpful for birth. Prenatal yoga can be booked as a one to session, couples session (where your birth partner gets to explore the practice too), or as group classes. I don't currently have any group sessions running but please do register your interest by sending me an email as if I get enough enquiries I will arrange classes. Prenatal yoga is mindful of your developing needs and is a safe way to practice yoga during pregnancy.

Postnatal Yoga

Post natal yoga can be practiced from 12 weeks postpartum provided you have been told by your health care provider that it is ok to return to exercise. The postnatal sessions can include pre-crawling babies and it is absolute fine to stop and breastfeed or give a bottle at any time, these are informal and social (sometimes noisy) sessions. We include various songs and activities to occupy the little ones interspersed with post birth suitable practice for mothers. We cover safe pelvic floor and deep core rehabilitation. Postnatal yoga can also be practiced without babies and this changes the tone and style of the class.  I don't currently have any group sessions running but please do register your interest by sending me an email as if I get enough enquiries I will arrange classes.
